OUR HISTORY

Over one hundred years ago, Minnie Radcliffe sailed over from England to settle in the United States. She was oddly enamored by the boathouses on Carson Avenue in Atlantic City, a row of shacks slapped together from wood decking on a ramshackle pier. She acquired the properties and commissioned the construction of a residence adjacent to them. This house accommodated her daughter, who was wedded to Arthur Kammerman, a Swiss engineer, along with their five children.

Among those children was the ambitious Les Kammerman. In his early twenties, he acquired a sizable parcel down the street, which previously housed the "Evening Star Yacht Club" along with a modest house. Taking residence in the home, Les embarked on the development of the property. In 1961, he erected a small dock complete with two gas pumps and repurposed an aluminum ticket booth salvaged from the World's Fair, transforming it into an office. From these modest origins, Kammerman's Marina burgeoned and thrived.

Over the years, numerous family members, including Les's children, grandchildren, cousins, and even second cousins, have actively contributed to the marina's operations from a tender age. Now, over sixty years later, Kammerman's Marina has successfully transitioned to the next generation, remaining steadfastly family-owned and operated. Currently, the helm is steered by Chris and Stacey Kammerman, a dedicated husband-and-wife team managing the marina with passion and commitment.
